Hi parents and girls!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6^th is College Shirt Day.  Everyone who cheered at Texas State, please wear your Texas State Shirt!

Next week:

Monday and/or Tuesday (Dec. 12-13):  Please come during Advisory to judge the holiday doors.  Use your cheer pass or write out a pass in your planner.  If I need to sign it, come by my room during lunch.

Thursday (Dec. 15):  Cheer Party during Advisory!  Please bring a small gift for your sister/s.  Also, please bring a snack to share.  You may drop things off in my room before school.

Walkway of Lights

Hi Cheerleaders,

We will be participating in the Walkway of Lights Parade on Friday. 

Due to my foot injury, I will not be able to be with you.  Mrs. Lazos, MFMS teacher & Anais’ mom, will be in charge.  Her phone number is 512.300.4254.

Meet in the parking lot at the corner of Main and 5^th Street at 5:30.

The parade starts at 6:00.

We will march down Main Street saying chants and cheers with our poms.  (We will not pass out candy.)  One of the captains, will be in charge marching and pick the cheers.

You will wear your full uniform.  You may wear a holiday hat with your uniform (elf, santa, reindeer, etc.)  You may put lights or glow sticks on your hats, in your poms, or on your body.  If you are cold, please wear white, black, purple, nude, or grey long sleeves under your shirt and the same colors for tights or leggings under your skirt.

Have your parents watch the parade and pick you up at the corner of Main St. and Yett St. (It will be pretty soon after 6:00.)

This is always a very fun parade!  Remember that you are representing Marble Falls Middle School and the Cheerleaders, so please have fun but act appropriately!

Texas State Saturday!

Please bring the UCA waiver forms to school tomorrow and give them to me!

Reminders for Saturday-

When:  Meet in front of school at 8:15.  We will leave at 8:30.  I have several parents driving plus a school suburban.

Wear:  Wear practice uniforms with bows and socks.  You may wear the warm up pants and jacket over your practice uniform if it is cold.

Bring: 

• ·         Black shorts or leggings to change into with the t-shirt they provide
• ·         Cheer bag
• ·         Poms
• ·         Water bottle
• ·         Money for supper after the game at Chick-fil-A
• ·         Money for snacks or souvenirs during the game.
• ·         UCA Waiver Form – Please bring that to school tomorrow!
• ·         A Smile!

Jos will bring and wear the Magic the Mustang Costume for the game.

Remember to review the dance routine a few times before Saturday.

Texas State Cheer Clinic Information

I am very excited about our trip to Cheer at a Texas State football game.  You already filled out permission slips for the district but attached are UCA waiver forms for those conducting the clinic.  Both the girls and adults with a “Coach” ticket will need to fill out the waivers.

I need each girls t-shirt size plus a t-shirt size for adults who are paying for “coach” tickets.  Please reply to this email with sizes.

We will wear our practice uniforms with bows, shoes, and socks for the clinic portion.  For the game, we will change into the t-shirts they give us with black bottoms (shorts, leggings, or the black warm up pants depending on the weather) plus our bows, shoes, and socks.  Girls will need to bring their cheer bag and their poms.

Jos will wear her Magic the Mustang costume during the game.

We learned half of the routine yesterday at practice.  We will need to add a practice to learn the second half.  So, 7^th grade will practice after school on November 8, and 8^th grade will practice before school on November 9.  If your daughter will not be going to Texas State, she will not need to attend that practice.

10:30-12:30 - Clinic and rehearsal

12:30-1:30 - Lunch Break (This will be provided for coaches/participants)

1:30 - Change into the Spirit Day Shirt and get ready for pregame activities

2:00-3:00 - March in with the Bobcat Band to the Stadium walking through fan zones

3:00 - Kick Off / Game (Halftime Performance, Strutter Gallery for Dancers, etc)

6:00 - End

-You will be given your tickets, spectator tickets, and Game Day Shirts at check in

-During the clinic we will be working on the material so it is ready for the halftime performance.   Cheerleader will also be notified what quarter they will be cheering.

Cheer - End of Season Schedule

Cheer season is almost over.  I have really enjoyed being the Cheer Coach and will miss the girls immensely.  Here is the schedule.

*Sign Up Sheets for Ribbon Sales are outside my room!  Please come by and sign up for at least 2 times.

*Please turn in the final payment for the Cheer Clinic at Texas State as soon as possible.

Monday, Oct. 24 – 7^th grade practice after school *I know this isn’t a regular practice day.  I apologize but I have a meeting on Tuesday that I must attend.

Tuesday, Oct. 25 – Practice cancelled and rescheduled for Monday.

Wednesday, Oct. 26 – 8^th grade practice before school

Thursday, Oct. 27 – Pink Out Spirit Day – Wear uniform with pink shoe laces, bows, socks, and pink eye black for school and game!  I will provide shoe laces and “eye pink”.  Come by my classroom before school to get the “eye pink”.  You may wear pink bows and socks of your choice.

o   7^th grade – Cheer right after school for game that starts at 4:00 and continue through game that starts at 5:00. (Should be done around 6:30)

o   8^th grade – Meet at the track at 6:10 for game starting at 6:30 and continue through game that starts at 7:30 (I will dismiss at 8:30 even if the game is still going. Please have rides there at 8:30)

Tuesday, Nov. 1 – Safari Day – Wear uniform or Safari Wear to school and pep rally! Wear uniform to game!

o   Pep Rally – Dismissed from class at 2:45, Pep Rally starts about 3:10

o   Football Games (both grades) – Games are at the High School stadium.  We will meet at my classroom at 4:45 to ride the bus over together.  Your parents will need to pick you up from the high school.  Please go to ACE for the first hour to get your homework completed.  Both squads will be cheering for both games.  Game times are 5:30 and 7:00.  If you are playing a volleyball game, please have your parents drive you over to the football stadium after your volleyball game.

Wednesday, Nov. 2 – Texas State Cheer Clinic Final Money Due (no exceptions, please pay earlier if possible)

Thursday, Nov 3 – Picture Day – Change into your uniform after school for pictures at 4:00.  Bring your poms.  Group and individual pictures will be taken on the football field.  I will pass out order forms for those of you wanting to order photos.

Saturday, Nov. 12 – Texas State Cheer Clinic – We will meet at 8:15 am in front of the school to travel to San Marcos.  Lunch is provide. Bring money for snacks and dinner on the way home.  We will call on the way home but should be back between 8-10 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 18 – Walkway of Lights Light Up Parade – We will be walking and cheering.  I will give time and location details later.  It is in the evening.

There are no football games or ribbon sales this week. 

Texas State Cheer Clinic & Game - A few of you have still not turned in your deposit or your permission slips for Texas State.  I will assume that you will not be attending.  It looks like we are about 1 car short to take cars instead of a bus.  If anyone else would like to volunteer to drive, please let me know.

Monday – No school!

Tuesday – Advisory – We will make banners for breast cancer awareness.  If you need to work on academics, do that instead. (We may need to come back on later days to finish up.)

Tuesday – 7^th Grade Practice after school

Wednesday – 8^th Grade Practice before school

Thursday – White Out Day – Wear white to support the Mustangs!

Reminder: If you did not earn at least a 70 in ALL classes, you may not participate in Cheer activities for the next 3 weeks.  You still need to come to practice but no games or parade.

***This is very important!  Please read!  If you are a parent, please make sure your daughter reads this.  Since there is not a class for cheerleading, I don’t see them every day and I cannot get this information to them without parent help.

Special – Since this week’s home games are on Tuesday, practice for this week will be on Thursday afternoon for 7^th grade and Friday morning for 8^th grade!

Monday, Sept. 26 – Spirit Day – Wear any purple and gold or your VB shirts!

Tuesday, Sept. 27 – Crazy Hair Day!  Wear complete Cheer Uniforms to school! Do your hair crazy and be leaders in school spirit!  Try to incorporate your bow into your crazy hair! For the game, all hair must be pulled back and not interfere with cheering or stunting.

Tuesday, Sept. 27 – Games at High School – Both Grades

We will ride the bus together to the high school at 4:30.  (That gives you 45 minutes to eat your snack, and do your homework in ACE.)  Meet at my classroom at 4:30.  We will leave at 4:35.  Both squads will cheer for both games.  The first game starts at 5:15 and the second game starts at 6:30.  If your parents are giving you a ride, please be at the high school stadium at 4:55.  Your parents will need to pick you up after the game from the High School Stadium!  Wear your complete uniform including socks, shoes, and bows.  Let’s look sharp!  You are also required to have a water bottle with you.  (Bring your own in case the water is late, you have some.)  Since you will be cheering for 2 games, you will get a quarter off to visit the concession stand.

Monday, 9/12: Spirit Ribbon Sales – Sign Up to sell during your lunch or during Advisory.  If you want to sell some individually, come by my room to pick them up.
