First Pep Rally and Game

Hi Cheerios,

We have practice on Tuesday (8th grade at 6:30 am, 7th grade from 4:00-5:15). On Thursday we have a Pep Rally and games.  

7th grade - Thursday - Game!

Meet at the field at 6:15.  

Game starts at 6:30.

If you are staying after school, please go to ACE to do homework (and give me time to pick up my son).  You may come watch the 8th grade at the first game.  If so, please sit together, near the front and show support for the 8th grade Cheerios.  You need to leave as soon as supplies and equipment are put away after your game is over between 7:30-8:00.  I will have you call parents during the 4th quarter.

8th grade - Thursday - Game!

8th grade will meet at B109 at 4:45.

Game starts at 5:00.

If you are staying after school, please go to ACE to do homework (and give me time to pick up my son).  We will take out all supplies and equipment.  After the game, you may leave or watch the 7th grade Cheerios sitting together near the front.

Advisory Meetings

We will have Cheer Meetings on Tuesday and Thursday during Advisory.  I will hand out 8th grade passes at practice in the morning.  7th grade, please stop by my room in the morning or between classes to get your pass. During these meetings, we will finalize any remaining details about the pep rally and game.  My Advisory will be in my room so we will meet in the front foyer where we practice.

Pep Rally

Parents, the Pep Rally starts at 3:15, if you would like to come, arrive around 3:00.  It will be in the stadium.  

Volleyball

I know the volleyballs teams are still forming.  Please let me know as soon as you find out which team your child made if they tried out and which games they will miss because of volleyball.

Courtest Rules & September Calendar

Hi Cheerios and Mascots!

A few reminders:

·         You are required to be at every practice unless you have advance permission.

·         If you are sick, please email, text, or call Mrs. Jett. (I do not get the notices from the office since you are not in a class.)

·         You need to wear your practice uniform at every practice (green shirts, zebra shorts, no jewelry, pony tail).

·         If you will miss a game or practice, you need to let me know in writing at least 2 weeks in advance.

·         Only text Mrs. Jett between 7:30 am – 9:00 pm (8:00 pm would be better) unless it is about an early morning practice, then you may text 30 min. before practice starts.

·         Uniforms:  you will wear your uniform all day to school with the bow of the week on Spirit Days!  You do not have to wear “cheer” shoes if you want to keep them looking nice.  However, you must wear white tennis shoes with white socks.  Change into cheer shoes for performances.  (Mascots will wear green  practice shirts with appropriate bottoms.)

·         Dress Up Days:  Be leaders in the school and participate in all dress up days!

·         As soon as Volleyballs teams are posted, please let me know!

Please do not ask me for a special exception to a rule.  You  are all special!

I have 2 baskets set up in my room for you to put notes, cards, small gifts, etc. in for your sister.

The football schedule is a little strange for September so here are your dates.  We will try to add in some times to paint posters, etc.

·         Friday, Sept. 25:  Wear Pro Sports jerseys/shirts

·         Tuesday, Sept. 29:  7^th Wear uniforms all day, Cheer at 7^th grade game at 6:00!

·         Thursday, Oct. 1:  8^th wear uniforms all day, cheer at 8^th grade game at 6:30! (7^th grade wear black for “Black Out” day!

·         Friday, Oct. 2:  Wear Crazy Hair

Practice Updates

On this website, you will find a google calendar of cheer activities.  I have included volleyball and away footballs games on the calendar to help avoid conflicts.  Since it is a google calendar, you should be able to add it to your calendar app on your phone.  It is still a work in progress so please let me know if you see any mistakes.

Upcoming Practice Schedule:

• Thursday, August 20 - 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. (Elections)
• Friday, August 21 - 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, August 25: 8th grade at 6:30 am - 7:50, 7th grade at 3:55 - 5:15
• Thursday, August 27: 8th grade at 6:30 am - 7:50, 7th grade at 3:55 - 5:15 
• Tuesday, September 1: 8th grade at 6:30 am - 7:50, 7th grade at 3:55 - 5:15 
• Thursday, September 3: 8th grade at 6:30 am - 7:50, 7th grade at 3:55 - 5:15

This Thursday or Friday, if you would like to come early (after 1:00), you may work on posters, banners, and/or lend a hand to teachers who might need help getting their classroom ready.


This Friday, from 4:00 until 4:30, we will have more tumbling qualifications.

Here is the information some of you requested on Cheer Leadership:

Cheer Leadership for each squad

• Captain:  Will lead the squad, oversees all activities, will lead when there is no co-captain of the week (determined by coach)
• Lieutenant Secretary:  will be responsible for recording attendance, record keeping, and safety forms
• Lieutenant Equipment:  will be responsible for team equipment; signs, coolers, mat, etc. and clean area
• Lieutenant School Spirit  will be responsible for leading team in creating posters, decorations, costume days, etx
• (Lieutenants will be voted on by squad with coach’s approval)
• Weekly Co-Captains:  Will call the cheers, lead warm ups, and assume captain’s role during the week (decided by Coach & Captain)
• Big Sisters/ Little Sisters:  Eighth grade girls will be big sisters and 7th grade girls will be little sisters.  This will be a mentoring program.  Little sisters may ask their big sisters for help in cheer, uniforms, school work, etc.  Big sisters will watch out for and help little sisters. Small gifts or notes of encouragement or appreciation may be given. (Chosen by coach)

Hi Parents, Cheerleaders, & Mascots!

 I am excited about this new year and the girls who will be representing Marble Falls Middle School. I see the Cheerleaders not just as girls who yell at games but as leaders and role models for the school and community.  I will be meeting with Mr. Barr, our new principal, later this month to discuss the ways in which the cheerleaders will be serving the school.

 I also want to make sure everyone has camp marked on their calendars and knows what outfits to wear each day:
Monday, August 3 - 11:30 am until 6:30 pm (Wear any Marble Falls shirt or plain purple shirt with black shorts)
Tuesday, August 4 - 9:00 am until 4:00 pm (Wear practice uniform that you will receive on 8/3.)
Wednesday, August 5 - 9:00 am until 4:00 pm (Wear college shirts or plain white shirts with black shorts)

 *Every first Wednesday of the month is "College Day" where teachers and students across the district are encouraged to celebrate higher education by wearing college shirts. As leaders, I would like the girls to participate each month. The shirts may be for any institute of higher learning; store bought or handmade.
